Yarn

red cabbage

The inch-thick yarn here in a plain- and a two-coloured version. The two-coloured single yarn is created by feeding different colour slivers into the spinning machine. The yarn has no twine, but a twist that causes the red cabbage effect. Afterwards the strands of yarn are felted in the classic manner with water and soap on a spinning reel.

Inspiration
Product

The same principle, but by twining one thin sliver with a thick sliver, an asymmetric dot is formed.

Development

Sliver forms the basis from which the yarn is spun, like the basic ingredients you need for cooking. This forms the basis for you determine the composition of the yarn.

A single yarn is a twisted yarn that is not twined with a second yarn. With wool the strength of the yarn is achieved by felting.
