Yarn

With the Spira carpet I tried to achieve a super-curl effect. Each separate thread has been twined with so much twist, both clock- and counter-clockwise (Z or S twist), that when the thread relaxes, a kind of corkscrew spiral is created.
Inspiration
Product
The rather intricate twine effect is built up of 3 threads. After twining the yarn must be left undisturbed for at least 3 weeks in order to stabilize.
Unfortunately, the wool largely regains its original state when the yarn absorbs moisture.
Development
Z is clockwise, S is counter clockwise.
Twining is twisting two or more yarns around each other.
