circular knitting

In circular knitting the pins form a circle. Circular knitting can be done by varying the number of bobbins from the yarn feed, depending on the width of the knit required. Known examples of circular knitting are stockings, T–shirts, bathing suit material and “tops”

The more bobbins the more slanting the knit. Bobbin no.1 is followed by no.2 etc. And when the last bobbin is no 36, no 1 bobbin will be back at the starting point after 36 bobbins. That’s why T-shirts often pull in a diagonal direction.
