jacquard
A warp and a weft are needed for weaving. The warp is set in 1 or more colours.
In jacquard weaving each individual warp thread can be controlled (up and down) by means of a computer programme, instead of a punch cards as used previously.
double cloth weave
In double cloth weaving, part of the warp threads are used to make the upper weave and the other part to make the under weave. The woven parts, lying on top of each other, can be joined every now and then.
